Brief and Solution
To design a proposal for a new quarterly journal ‘(Re)generate’ celebrating seminal and contemporary design essays.
Given the title ‘(Re)generate’, I opted for a vibrant and energetic aesthetic. I wanted the publication to be experimental, whilst having a clear structure. Each chapter adopts a new grid layout which has been adapted based on the style of writing. This helps to create a change of pace and distinction between the essays. The inspiration for the logo came from the idea that the word itself was regenerating and being pulled together. This is shown through the use of lines and cut up type. The same thin lines run through the whole publication, used both to provide structure and to guide the reader.
